603 Hours

I’m starting to feel like I’m getting the hang of it. It seems that (very slowly) my mind has improved in its ability to focus on something.

The analogy of turning around a big ship is apt.

Is the estimation that it takes about 10,000 hours to master meditation also apt?

To be honest I feel like I’m starting to master it now.

My monkey mind still wanders. But I feel that my awareness has been refined into something truly beautiful.

For instance I did 1 hour of meditation on the breath tonight. It felt like ecstasy to simply pay attention without being encumbered by my mental filters.

To me it feels better than sex. It’s like having 100 orgasms in the space of an hour.

I do believe that exercise and reading help with meditation. They aren’t mutually exclusive pursuits.

Exercise makes you feel good when you meditate. Eating healthy foods makes you feel like you have a “clean energy”.

Being healthy is a fundamental good. We are made of 100 trillion cells working together. It’s truly a miracle.

I don’t believe that spirituality needs to be about denying our physical body.

I am lucky. I have time to exercise and read and meditate in the space of one day.

It’s a privilege to be able to feel this good.
